In 2000, the Lord then called us into ministry, Pastor John was then ordained a minister under an independent ministry of Australia.
In 2001 the Lord called us out of the world unto Himself and that began the greatest testament of our lives in the preparation that God was doing in our lives.
Pastor John Newie and Prophetess Maureen Newie are both of Torres Strait Islander heritage and partners in the “Branch of the New Covenant Ministry”. Both have found salvation in Yeshua Ha Maschiach in February of 1984. In June of 1984 we got married at the Full Gospel Church in Deeral. Since then we have been blessed by the Lord with 10 beautiful children, with lots of grandchildren. We sat under the ministry’s of Pastor’s Bert and Bill Hollingsworth, for the first 16 years of our walk with the Lord Almighty.

In 2001 the Lord called us out of the world unto Himself and that began the greatest testament of our lives in the preparation that God was doing in our lives. In 2003 we gave up everything all our material possessions to serve the Lord God Almighty and with 5 children in tow we found ourselves on the streets of Cairns. The oldest two children had left home at this stage. This was our wilderness period that lasted from 2004 till 2021. During this time God was preparing us for what is ahead and coming. We saw the mighty Hand of God moving upon our lives in us and for us. Even though we were on the streets we saw unlikely people sent to provide what we needed at that moment in time. Things like shelter, money, food, the basic necessities for life. At times we cried unto God and wanted to give up but our children reminded us to go on after all that we had given up, were we just going to waste all that time and effort.
Also in that period of time God gave us another 3 children. We left our last home in White Rock, Cairns, with the last child being 2 years old. We were given the last 4 children as prophetic children for the future. Over these years we learned their prophetic value and meaning. 1. Represented the wealth that God was bringing from the unrighteous to the righteous. 2. Represented the ministry that God has given us and it is a world wide ministry starting from the Torres Strait Islands in Australia spanning across the globe to end in Israel. 3. Represents the promise that the Lord God Almighty Himself had given to us. 4. The last who is the son, who was named MaherShalalHashBaz who represents the end timing of God’s plans for the earth.
The mandate that has been given is to bring righteousness and holiness back to the church and to walk in the presence of God. Australia is the land of Holiness therefore holiness has to be reflected firstly through the indigenous people of the land then to the rest of the Australians, then out to the rest of the earth all the way back to Israel. As it first started in Jerusalem which Jesus gave the great commission to His disciples, in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive the power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth”. (NKJV)
Now is the time for this great commission to return to where it came from, because it is now nearing the time of the end and the ushering in of the return of Yeshua. We are believing and waiting for the power of the Glory of God to come upon us and we shall be the witnesses to Yeshua in (Torres Strait) Zenadth Kes, and in all Australia Aboriginals then the rest of Australia, and the Pacific Islands and back to the centre of the earth from where it started, Jerusalem, Israel.
